PORTABLE SOLAR AERATORS RUN 24/7
Our Aeration Goal:
Providing  100% solar powered stand alone pond aerators that operate 24/7, summer and winter, to improve pond water quality and prevent fish kills.

Our Product :
The PEC solar powered aeration system captures and uses  a standard marine battery to operate the system 24/7  for up to 3 cloudy days in a row.
Hybrid backup is available for extended cloud cover.
The stored solar power drives one or more  PEC-45 air pumps rated at 20,000 hours of maintenance free and lubrication free operation.
The pumped  air moves through a flexible plastic tube to a floating airlift diffuser in the pond.  The airlift diffuser operates either with a floated diffuser or inside a floating expandable tube.  All pond water is then mixed and aerated to saturation from any depth.  In this manner hypoxia is stopped and fish kills are prevented.
PEC TOTAL COST OF OWNERSHIP WARRANTY (TCO) :
PEC is introducing a first-of-its-kind program that warranties the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO) for our aeration customers.

One year bumper-to-bumper warranty.  2 year pump motor warranty excluding pump diaphragms which are recommended to be replaced annually at a cost of $35.00/pump.  5 year airlift diffuser warranty.  5 year* depreciating value PV solar panel warranty and recycling program (*maximum value is 10% of unit purchase price and depreciation rate is 5% per year less wear value as determined by PEC).

The TCO warranty can be translated simply as follows:  You will not pay more than the retail cost of a pump repair kit (approx. $35/yr)  for each  PEC 45 pump annually,  plus the cost of a replacement pump every 2 years (approx. $125/yr),   plus shipping.  Your TCO is $160.00/yr.  plus shipping costs.   Thats less than 25% of  the annual maintenance cost of every other aeration system we have ever seen.

The PEC solution was built from the ground up for our stand alone pond aeration systems,  PEC is helping to eliminate the complexity typically associated with other aeration solutions, which most often results in high maintenance and management costs. By designing a powerful yet simple solution from the start, PEC drives down the TCO, helping customers realize dramatic aeration cost savings year after year.

ALL OTHER AERATION SYSTEMS IN THE MARKETPLACE TODAY
All other aeration systems in the marketplace today were designed when power was cheap and are not applicable to solar powered aerations systems.

Paddle wheels,  fountains,  splashers, and deep water high pressure bubblers  are  the antithesis of a LOWEST COST OF OWNERSHIP  appoach. Simply stated, oxygen dissolves in water so rapidly that these old technologies were  based on applying as much energy as you can, in as little space as possible.
As a child we learned very quickly that it was  much easier to blow air into a  soda straw than to suck  on it hard enough to lift water out of the glass.   And swirling the straw for hours to mix the good stuff on the bottom vs. one small puff of air through it?   Come on, the only reason we quit doing it was because it made a mess and we got yelled at.

Almost all of the oxygen dissolved into the water from an air bubble occurs when the bubble is being formed. Only a negligible amount of oxygen transfer occurs during the bubbles transit to the surface of the water.  However, after the bubble is formed it can be made to do some serious  work.  During the bubbles transit to the surface it can bring a large volume of water with it.  Forming the bubble in one end of  a submerged tube can can result in pulling  water from the other end of the submerged tube.  This is how an airlift pump works and how a PEC draft tube works.

When using the air we breathe,  you can only get about 8 pounds of oxygen dissolved into a million gallons of water.  Not alot of oxygen,  but  100 lbs of fish only need  .02-.05 lbs/hr to survive
(our EKBS-20 solar aerator provides ten times that rate of oxygen transfer).  All oxygen transfer using air is a gas side limited reaction, period. (see ASCE Oxygen Transfer Testing).  Ten States Standards for water and wastewater treatment realized this early-on  and continues to publish their practical results using low pressure coarse bubble technology for aerating water.  It works well!!!

JUST COMMON SENSE
It is just  NOT cheaper to lift or spray water into the air to aerate it.  As soon as water touches air it is rapidly  saturated with oxygen and begins to evaporate dropping the water temperature rapidly.  The higher up you pump water above the surface,  the more energy is used up....however it is very pretty and useful for lowering the water temperatures.
It is NOT cheaper to maintain high pressure air pumped deep into the water, no matter how deep you pump it.   Bottom mounted
fine diffused air bubbles disturb and float bottom  sediment, tiny fish, and most small highlife to the surface to form an unsightly sheen of dead and dying rafts of  biomass that block out the sun and make matters worse  (see Dissolved Air Flotation).

PEC TCO HIGHLIGHTS
* On average, upfront costs for a PEC system typically represent 67 percent of its  annual TCO. Based on data complied from  customers, operating costs such as hardware replacement, training, support,  add-ons and changes, system management, power consumption, and other ongoing charges comprise approximately 25 percent of all compared solar powered system's five-year TCO.
* PEC's  brilliantly simple architecture delivers an intrinsically lower TCO and dramatically greater value than the more complex and less reliable solutions offered by other so called solar aerator vendors.
* The PEC Lowest TCO warranty alows PEC to  analyze TCO for each customer's exact requirements.
* The Lowest TCO warranty program supports PEC's  efforts to provide solutions that deliver the full financial benefits of pond aeration throughout a system, rather than simply offering  costly  replacement hardware and maintenance support agreements.
